Yesterday, we had the pleasure of viewing the videos made by our fellow classmates. Each video we saw had great elements. I liked hoe group 4 turned the assignment into a news casting. This was a good was to state the facts without being boring. I really enjoyed group two’s video. It was the best edited. I loved how there were different types of people interviewed to produced different perspectives. Still, by far, my favorite video was group 3! I love comedy and this video was hilarious! I especially liked how they managed to make the video funny without deferring from the topic. Great job guys!
Videos in the classroom (via the web) are a fairly new thing. I am interested to see if this meme will continue to evolve and spread. Maybe, all of our assignments will be able to be submitted via videos! Can you imagine that? To me videos in the class room have benefits and disadvantages. It is an easy way to to convey a topic without writing a long drawn out paper. Yet, there are many things that can go wrong with the technology. If the meme does spread and evolve, I hope they give classes to aid in the production process!

I agree with you that group three's video was hilarious. They were able to get their point across in a comedic way. This by far was my favorite project in this class. It allowed us to be more creative with our assignment than writing an essay.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree kashonda! it took us forever to do that video, only 5 hrs. I also like group 2 video, it was the news cast. I think the interviewer asked the right questions.

I agree with Kashonda i thought all of the groups did a great job and the most interesting thing was that everyone had a different video. I think that using videos is a good new way of expressing what we've learned instead of writing a paper. It is good to have different options in writing and thats what this video experience was about. I really enjoyed groups 2 and 3 their were very creative and interesting to watch.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Crystal, this was also my favorite project we did so far this semester. I've never worked with videos or you tube before this class and i had a great experience with it.
ReplyDeleteVideos are new for classroom projects. It's always fun to see what people can do, but it's hard when many people don't know how to use video software. Or have a hard time accessing video cameras. Perhaps check to see if everyone knows how to edit videos and post them or perhaps give them more time to work on it?
ReplyDeleteI never really thought we were starting a meme with out classroom videos but i like that idea. It is a way if getting people who arent into the whole formal writing process a chance to creatively project their thoughts and arguments about a topic. I do agree, there will always be glitches with technology, usually more times then not there will always be something that goes wrong. But i feel like it is worth it. I also liked how we watched videos during normal class time. I felt more informed not just about the writing process in general but i learned about things outside of the classroom that re important.
ReplyDeleteI think overall, the classroom and their groups offered different approaches towards the project. It was nice not having having to watch to the same video setup throughout the entire class. From the videos, I learned about memes, writing a research paper, and how to survey a variety of individuals
